5 signs wildlife is getting into your attic
Small clues around the roofline can tell you a lot before a wildlife problem becomes expensive.

Wildlife rarely announces itself when it first finds a way into an attic. Most homeowners notice a pattern of small clues first.
Listen for scratching, rolling, or movement near the roofline during the hours when the animal is most active. Daytime movement often points to squirrels, while heavier nighttime sounds may suggest raccoons.
Look closely at soffits, vents, fascia, and roof returns. Freshly moved insulation, dark rub marks, droppings, or a damaged screen can all point toward an active access point.
If you find an opening, avoid sealing it immediately. There may be young inside, or an animal may still be using the opening. A careful inspection helps identify the species and build a safe removal and exclusion plan.
The earlier you investigate, the more options you have for protecting the structure and avoiding secondary damage to wiring, insulation, and drywall.
